The mission of the William Guy Forbeck Research Foundation is to promote advances in the field of oncology, particularly pediatric oncology, by shortening the cancer research timetable.

Foremost among programming is the annual Scientific Round Table held at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Attending each year are up to fourteen invited physicians and scientists who meet in a private "think tank" environment where they exchange ideas freely in the hope of building on each other's knowledge and experience.

Each year the Foundation honors up to four outstanding clinician or post-doctoral fellows with the Forbeck Scholar Award. Recipients are invited to attend and take part in the Forum. In following years recipients are invited to participate in the Scholar Retreat held annually in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It is hoped that this experience will encourage a promising young research scientists in his or her work.
