Applications due April 1, 2010
The Foundation is looking for outstanding junior clinical or post-doctoral fellows to attend the annual Foundation Forum to be held November 5-7th, 2010 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. During the meeting recipients of the award have an unrivaled opportunity to interact with international experts in a particular field of cancer research. In addition, award recipients will be invited to participate in the Foundation's new program, the "Scholar Retreat."
The 2010 Forum will focus on "Cancer Genomics" and will be chaired by Richard Kolodner, PhD and Prof. Michael Stratton. They will be responsible for bringing together a small group of international experts in the field to debate the topic and present their latest data to the attendees. The meeting is held in a "think Tank" environment where active discussion of new ideas and concepts is promoted. Participation is by invitation only.
The Scholarship covers travel to the meeting and expenses incurred during the event.
- Nominations must be received by the Foundation by April 1st, 2010.
- Nomination must be made by a letter of recommendation from the applicant's director of studies. The letter should include a short synopsis of the applicant's research interest and a brief explanation of why this individual in recommended. Attach to this nomination:
- Applicant's name, address, telephone, fax and E-mail.
- A list of qualifications / publications to date.
- Email application, including nomination letter. The signed nomination letter can be sent by email, faxed, or post-mailed to the Foundation.
The recipient(s) of the award will be selected by the Foundation's Scientific Advisory Board, and will be notified by May 13th, 2010.
