Walk the lake for Kira Faith
Did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? In support of this, The Kira Spedale Foundation and the William Guy Forbeck Foundation are collaborating in the fight against DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma is a rare inoperable brainstem tumor that attacks children). Kira Spedale was lost to this dreadful disease in 2014. The survival rates for this disease have not improved and it is still 100% deadly. It is time to push research forward.
The Forbeck Foundation has hosted scientific forums since 1984 when Billy Guy Forbeck died of a rare childhood form of cancer. These 2 organizations will now work together to push research forward in a consensus meeting on DIPG that will be held in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, October 3rd-6th, 2019.
Join the walk around the lake to support this endeavor and continue the legacy of Kira Spedale, Billy Guy Forbeck and all the children lost to these deadly forms of pediatric cancer.
Two ways to participate
In Person: The actual walk will be held on Sunday, October 7th, 2018 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. For more information about this walk and to register, please visit The Kira Spedale Foundation website.
