In 2005, the WGFRF held the first Scholar Retreat. The Scholar Retreat is a three-day think-tank meeting that focuses solely on the Scholars. It is the intention of the WGFRF to bring together leading clinicians and researchers in the early stages of their careers to foster the collaborative process from the beginning. In addition to attending one Annual Forum, Scholars are invited and expected to attend four consecutive Scholar Retreats. The Scholar Retreat provides a platform for sixteen scientists and researchers to work together on today’s issues and obstacles in cancer medicine. An immediate and direct impact on research projects can be made with the knowledge gained at the Scholar Retreat.
All funds from the Blue Jean Ball directly support the 2018 Scholar Retreat held in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
All Sponsors will be recognized at the event, in the annual newsletter, and on the website.
